Core Responsibilities

Messaging Environment Ownership
• Manage messaging services such as middleware, Linux servers, SMTP (email), proxy servers, and other tools that enable reliable message delivery between systems.
• Ensure reliable message delivery between systems and support the stability and performance of SITA messaging systems
• Collaborate with other teams during system changes, upgrades, or issue resolution involving messaging components.

Monitoring & Performance Management
• Utilize Dynatrace and other tools to continuously monitor the messaging environment.
• Help identify potential performance issues or irregularities and escalate as needed.

Incident Management
• Respond to incidents reported through monitoring systems or user reports.
• Provide Service Operations support in alignment with SLAs and customer contracts.
• Track and manage incidents using platforms like ServiceNow.

Troubleshooting & Collaboration
• Diagnose and resolve messaging-related issues.
• Work with infrastructure, network, and application teams to support troubleshooting activities.

Documentation & Best Practices
• Maintain accurate documentation for processes, troubleshooting steps, and environment configurations.


Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

Preferred Technical Skills ( Minimum 2 knowledge areas )
• Good understanding of Linux (Red Hat) system administration.

• Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

• Familiarity with messaging systems such as IBM MQ.
• Familiarity with SMTP (email protocols)

Additional Technical Skills (Considered a Plus)
• Familiarity with proxy servers: HA Proxy, Max Scale

• Databases: Oracle, MariaDB, SQL Server
• Basic cloud platform knowledge: AWS or Azure


Soft Skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management.

Experience
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), IBM MQ, ITIL Foundation) are a plus
