Job Description:

What the position is:

The Business Intelligence Analyst role is an individual contributor reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence & Data Strategy, primarily responsible for the creation & delivery of Enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) content at CommuteAir. This person will work closely with stakeholders across all areas of the company to create BI solutions that enable a range of data experiences and business needs. The role requires strong skills in both software implementation and gathering business requirements.

Essential functions:

  • Create and Maintain Enterprise BI Reports: Create and maintain reports and dashboards using a Business Intelligence tool (such as Power BI)
    • Responsible for gathering business requirements from end-user stakeholders and translating business requirements to IT for agile Data Warehouse implementation
    • Create and publish enterprise BI content that is timely, accurate, and clear in order to support the end goal of having trustworthy and actionable BI content.
    • Maintain BI solutions to minimize downtime for end users, maximize time to respond to data, and maximize efficiency of data queries and ETL processes across the data warehouse and PBI files
  • Document Enterprise Data Reporting and BI Workflows: Maintain technical and user documentation that supports data governance including BI Reports Catalog, report information buttons, and Metrics Glossary. Also includes commenting Power Query-maintained ETL processes and DAX measures as part of data marts and Enterprise BI reports.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership. Establish and maintain rapport, actively engaging in Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) initiatives with IT and connecting end users including Analysts, Executives, and Operational Managers to solutions that match their data needs.

General requirements & qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, supply change management, mathematics/statistics, or another relevant field
  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling)
  • Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)
  • Previously demonstrated expertise in software implementation or BI development with a minimum of 2 years’ experience required
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Prior aviation- or relevant aerospace-related experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills:
    • Ability to clearly present complex concepts to range of stakeholders
    • Confidence to influence peers and senior leaders
  • Demonstrated project and change management skills
  • Strong statistical analysis
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with a strong attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI and Outlook are required
  • Will require periodic travel up to 25.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
