StandardAero has an exciting opportunity for a strategic Human Resources Leader to join one of the largest independent aviation service businesses in the world. StandardAero is a leading provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services including engine repair and overhaul, component repair and overhaul, airframe repair, overhaul and paint, engine component repair and overhaul, avionics upgrades, engineering services and interior completions across the Commercial Airlines & Fleets, Business Aviation and Military & Energy sectors. The Company is a global organization with ~7000 employees working out of facilities strategically located in 55 primary locations across 6 continents.
Reporting directly to the sector Vice President of Human Resources, the Turbo Prop Airlines & Fleets (TPAF) HR Director will act as a key member of the TPAF strategic leadership team, with accountability to the TPAF Vice President and site General Managers across this complex global and growing Business Unit. The HR Director will be accountable for the leadership and delivery of results in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations and Leadership Development across the TPAF portfolio of businesses in the US, Canada, Singapore, South Africa, Australia and France.
Due to the Global nature of this job, incumbents can work at the Summerside location in Prince Edward Island or in states in which StandardAero operations in the Eastern Standard Time Zone (PA, OH, NC, TN, GA, FL).
Additional Job Details
- Develop, coordinate and participate in creative solutions to business challenges and cultural change.
- Act as the trusted advisor to the VP and GMs and other members of Leadership, providing daily input and guidance on the people, teams or programs needing the attention in order to drive people objectives.
- Attend, participate in all TPAF business review meetings and update HR analytics
- Develop, coordinate and participate in ST leadership teambuilding activity.
- Identify and coordinate long term talent management planning to develop longer term organizational capability. Work with leaders to select candidates for leadership development, Succession planning, IDP’s and overall Talent Management
- Partner with Business Leadership on business growth activities including acquisitions and integrations.
- Routinely consult and engage with the VP and GM’s to foster and promote engagement at all levels of the organization.
- Ensure the consistent and equitable application of organization policies and procedures.
- Take appropriate actions to address and resolve employee relations issues.
- Participate in site-wide and company-wide HR initiatives as required.
- Ownership of site(s) HR analytics (i.e., retention, spans & layers, turnover, engagement, recruitment plans, onboarding, etc.)
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive Human Resources experience; minimum of five (5) years as an HR Business Partner.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Human Resource Leadership experience.
- Knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirement.
- Must be authorized to work in the US or Canada and be located in a state / province where StandardAero does business.
Preferred Characteristics
- Experience leading virtual, multi-site teams.
- Experience leading across cultural boundaries; international HR experience.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, decision making, written and oral communication skills
- Deep understanding of business metrics
- Ability to coach and challenge leadership and site HR to grow and make strategic business decisions
- Experience in manufacturing, particularly in the military, energy or aviation Industries.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and influence business leaders as a thought partner.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and implement HR solutions in a growing and evolving organization.
- Demonstrated planning and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results.
