About the Role:

You will support the Emirates Groups safety performance by ensuring the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS). Sitting within the Ground Safety team, you will lead incident investigations to identify root causes and safety risks, ensuring compliance with all SMS regulations and provide guidance to improve operational safety, strengthen risk controls, and promote a positive safety culture.

In this role, you will:

• Oversee the coordination of safety activities across Emirates departments aligned with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and regulatory standards, ensuring effective implementation and coordination.
• Lead or support investigations into safety incidents involving staff, equipment, or facilities, identifying root causes and recommending preventive actions.
• Guide operational departments on safety risk management and assurance practices and conduct comprehensive safety reviews of emerging and recurring safety issues.
• Liaise with operational departments to gather, review, and communicate investigation-related information, ensuring timely responses and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Develop and propose safety recommendations based on industry best practices, monitor their implementation, and evaluate their effectiveness in preventing recurrence.
• Collaborate with the Safety Promotions team on training content, contribute to awareness campaigns, and provide feedback on SMS implementation and reporting practices.
• Analyse safety data to identify trends, assist departments in hazard identification and risk mitigation.

To be considered for the role, you must meet the requirements below:

• 5+ years experience in Medical, Safety or Flight Safety
• A completed Degree or Honours (12+3 equivalent), preferably in Aviation, Safety, or a related discipline.
• Experience in Aviation operations related to the role, Safety Management or Safety Management Systems.
• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and its implementation.
• Qualification related to a safety investigation role or equivalent specialised professional qualifications, such as an Aircraft Accident/SMS Investigator qualification.
• Require aviation industry experience, including leading or supporting safety investigations and demonstrating strong technical report writing skills.
• Familiar with modern safety management practices, safety systems and tools, systemic investigation techniques, human factors, and risk management.
• Knowledge of airline management, modern aircraft operation and associated technology, particularly ground operations, flying operations, cabin operations, engineering/maintenance, Air Traffic Control (ATC), airport systems, human factors/psychology, as appropriate to the role and business requirements.
