Position Responsibilities
* This role is an "experienced avionics technician" who is responsible for the performance of scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications of avionics and electrical systems on all types of business jets. Education and Experience Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Must have a minimum of 5 years of recent experience working on corporate aircraft; preferably Hawker, Citation, or Challenger. (may be flexible)
* Experience working on and troubleshooting avionics and airframe systems.
* Experience working with and repairing the following aircraft systems: Autopilots, Flight Management Systems, Navigation and Communication Systems, EFIS, Aircraft Electrical Systems, Lighting, Pitot and Static Systems.
* Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
* Exceptional problem-solving.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
* Possesses quality focus and documentation skills.
* FCC license (preferred)
* Garmin aircraft instrument experience is a plus.
* Ability to read and understand blueprints, manufacturing/engineering drawings, and Industry documents.
* Must have own tools Job Duties
* Troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, and calibrates aircraft electronic systems and components.
* Ensure all work performed is inspected by an authorized repair station inspector.
* Prepares various documents for record keeping purposes as required by company policies, FAA approved repair station and quality control manuals, all FAA regulations, OEM aircraft manufacturer manuals, etc.
* Check conformance with approved drawings or approved data.
* Communicates with department manager or crew chief on any problems or repairs.
* Must have a strong Troubleshooting background on Corporate / Business Jets.
* Maintains a clean, neat, and efficient work area.
* Repairs and calibrates shop equipment as assigned.
* Installs/modifies/fabricates wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.
* Installs, aligns and wires electrical and electronic components such as sensors, radio communications, antennas and lights.
* Performs continuity checks and functional checkouts of complete aircraft systems.
* Demonstrates excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a positive customer service attitude without compromising quality.
* Sets up and operates necessary test equipment: conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
* Performs other duties as required.
