Overview:
Skybridge Aviation is seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This position involves performing maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics, ASE (Aircraft Survivability Equipment), and electrical systems on military rotary-wing aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of advanced electronic systems and diagnostics and be committed to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
General Duties:
- Inspecting, testing, and repairing electronic aircraft components that are required for communication, navigation, ASE, and flight control systems.
- Install and troubleshoot various systems such as NAV/COM/PULSE, Auto Pilot, Audio Systems, TAWS, GPS, and RVSM.
- Keep current on aviation safety practices and technology.
- Remain knowledgeable of other aircraft systems such as hydraulics and flight controls.
- Read and interpret specific maintenance and repair manuals as well as blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Utilize testing systems.
- Utilize hand tools to perform repairs and installations.
- Provide technical support to electrical, structural, and mechanical engineers and customers.
- Utilize excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
- Make entries in aircraft logs and records.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in avionics maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting (military rotary-wing experience preferred)
- 6+ years of avionics experience required
- Experience working on rotary-wing aircraft highly preferred
- In-depth understanding of advanced electronic systems and diagnostics
- Ability to install and troubleshoot avionics systems including NAV/COM, Auto Pilot, GPS, TAWS, and related systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Experience using avionics test equipment and hand tools
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians
- Own tools required; will not be provided
