2026 Internship - Avionics and Electrical Systems Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:
Gain valuable engineering experience in the area of design requirements including capture, design, validation,
troubleshooting, and certification of aircraft avionic and electrical systems. Assist in the development and evaluation of
crucial systems on Textron Aviation Products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare engineering drawings for avionics and electrical system interface wiring using computer based drafting tools
(CATIA/CCD and/or Siemens Capital).Utilize electronic test equipment to verify avionics and electrical systems meet design requirements, and/or for system
troubleshooting in the lab and on aircraft.Assist in preparing engineering trade studies, functional test procedures, certification plans, ground and flight test plans,
certification reports, and other engineering documents.Write technical descriptions of subject matter pertinent to design or test requirements. Includes descriptions of supplier
parts, test or rigging specifications, etc.Assist with the evaluation and analysis of avionics and electrical system design for completion of function hazard
assessments and system safety assessments.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Prefer completion of 60 hours while currently enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or Technology).
Minor or relevant coursework in Technical Writing, Business Administration, or Computer Programming is beneficial
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with electronic test equipment preferredElectronic drafting experience with CATIA-CADAM Drafting (CCD) and/or Siemens Capital preferredC/C and assembly programming experience or coursework preferredExperience with CATIA V5 and VPM preferred

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
