Job Title:DoD TS - Cyber Security Engineer

Seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) in Charleston South Carolina. The role of the ISSE is to bridge the gap between high-level security policies/requirements and the technical/operational implementation of those requirements. Candidates should have an in-depth understanding of the cybersecurity policies and procedures for government sector information systems and the same in-depth technical knowledge and experience to implement them. The ISSE will work closely and effectively with the Information Systems Security Manager and a team of engineers on all aspects of the development and implementation of their IT systems. The ISSE will not only provide guidance, standards, and oversight to the Cyber Security and Engineering teams but will have a hands-on approach to installing, configuring, and securing the IT systems as you work towards accreditation. The candidate will also provide input and hands-on assistance with related documentation such as systems concept of operations, system security design, implementation plans, operational procedures, and maintenance training materials.
Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Must demonstrate at least two of the following:
1. In-depth knowledge and experience with installing, configuring, and securing SQL per DoD STIGs.
2. Advanced CISCO networking experience. Must have in-depth knowledge of routing and switching as well as configuring and hardening per DoD STIGs.
3. In-depth knowledge and experience with all versions of Client Windows; server and Infotree.
4. Knowledge and experience installing, configuring, and securing.
5. Knowledge and experience evaluating proposed security architectures and designs against security compliance requirements.
6. Basic understanding of information security principles and risk assessment techniques.
7. Experience with using NESSUS and other scanning applications.
8. Advanced communications skills: able to work well with others, independently and as part of a team.
9. Must be able to work well with others including educating others who may not have the same understanding of IT and security as you do.
Mandatory Certifications:
CompTIA Security + CE, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Client Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
Desired Certifications:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
VMWare Certified Professional X – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV).
SQL Database Developer Certification.
Required Education and Total Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and (8) years of technical experience (STEM degree desired).
Additional technical experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
