Job Title: Engineering Checker, IPT | Position Summary: As a member of the Product Development IPT, you will support all design groups by validating 3D CAD models and assemblies, and by performing detailed quality checks of 2D drawings to ensure compliance with company drafting standards and recognized industry best practices. Essential Job Functions Through collaboration with the Technical Leads, validate the quality of the technical product by ensuring that all 3D CAD models and assemblies, and 2D drawings are produced in accordance with company CAD management and design standards in a timely fashion in line with program release schedule. Validate 3D CAD models and assemblies according to company requirements and provide guidance, support and communication to the engineering design team to ensure CAD data are accurate and free of errors. Check and approve 2D drawings from the points of view of; technical completeness, clarity, conformance with company standards, dimensional accuracy and the correct specification of materials and processes. Check and/or perform tolerance stack analyses to ensure technical completeness and correctness. Manage checking request log, quickly adjusting to changing priorities of multiple design teams. Contribute to product and process continuous improvement activities. Commit to and meet program deadlines. Status team regularly on task performance and completion. Perform other related duties as required. |
Minimum Position Qualifications | To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience Required: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the field of design/drafting utilizing Siemens NX. Ability to apply 3D CAD management principles to maintain compliant model structures, attributes, and product hierarchies in NX/Teamcenter. Handson experience validating engineering drawings for accuracy and compliance with company CAD standards, GD&T requirements, and industry drafting conventions. Comprehensive knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles and their application to aerospace components and assemblies. Preferred: Formal certification in Siemens NX and Teamcenter. Working knowledge of Siemens Capital Harness 3D CAD software. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong analytical problemsolving skills. Knowledge of general aviation manufacturing processes. Knowledge of Data Management and Configuration Management principles. Experience with Aerospace structures and component design. |
