Position SummaryReporting to the Heavy Production Manager, the Engineering/Repair Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, acting as the primary liaison between the Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), manufacturer engineering departments, and Design Approval Representatives (DARs). This role ensures that aircraft damage is properly assessed, documented and supported with approved repair data in compliance with regulatory and airworthiness requirements.Personal CharacteristicsMechanical aptitude, trainableStrong knowledge of basic hand toolsHighly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environmentProfessional and respectful, with a positive work attitudeTimely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essentialMotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamTechnical problem-solvingCommunication and coordinationAttention to detail and compliance focusTime management under pressureEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communitiesKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesServe as the main point of contact between the Crew Chiefs, Team Leads, ACAs and manufacturer engineering teams for repair approvals and technical supportCoordinate with DARs to obtain approved repair schemes when OEM data is not availableReview, compile and submit detailed damage reports including photos, measurements and inspection findingsInterpret and communicate engineering repair instructions to maintenance teamsEnsure all repairs are supported by approved data (SRMs, engineering orders, or DAR approvals)Track and follow up on repair requests to minimize aircraft downtime (AOG support when required)Maintain organized records of all engineering correspondence, approvals, and repair documentationVerify compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA, EASA as applicable)Assist in developing repair packages and work instructions for shop personnelSupport audits by ensuring documentation traceability and complianceSupport management in the application of the training program requirementsCollaborate with Quality and Production teams to ensure repairs are executed correctlyActively participate in the Company’s Safety Management SystemPerform additional duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience and CertificationsDiploma or degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or related fieldPrevious experience in an AMO, MRO, or airline maintenance environmentStrong understanding of aircraft structures, repairs, and maintenance documentationFamiliarity with SRMs, engineering orders, and approved data requirementsKnowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., Transport Canada CARs, FAA, EASA)Excellent communication skills for coordinating with external engineering authoritiesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple repair requests under time-sensitive conditionsPreferred qualificationsExperience working directly with OEM engineering teams or DARsKnowledge of structural repair processes (metallic and/or composite)Familiarity with AOG (Aircraft on Ground) response coordinationExperience with maintenance tracking systems or ERP softwareThe ability to work independently and contribute to a diverse team.High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalentIndigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an assetMust be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizationsWorking ConditionsBased in an AMO facility with frequent interaction on the hangar floorFast-paced environment with time-critical repair coordinationOccasional need to support off-hours or urgent AOG situationsPhysically able to perform all listed job dutiesTravel by aircraft and other means as required by roleWork in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling dailyRepetitive tasksVarious shiftsMethods and procedures described or implied in the job profile may be altered to accommodate employees.
