We’re seeking a Facilities/Industrial Engineer who’s ready to be hands-on with our infrastructure, tackle real-world challenges, and drive improvements that directly impact our ability to serve our global customers.
Facilities Engineers manage the functionality, comfort, safety, and efficiency of buildings, taking responsibility for the overall maintenance and upkeep of facilities.
They play a significant role in managing both routine and complex maintenance tasks, ensuring that the facilities are operational and effective.
Facilities Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and improve building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and fire protection.
- Lead capital improvement projects, equipment installations, and facility expansions.
- Coordinate and plan project work utilizing internal skilled trades and outside vendors.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and industry regulations.
- Identify and implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams.
- Inspecting buildings and facilities to identify any issues related to structural, electrical, plumbing, or other systems.
- Creating and implementing preventive maintenance procedures for maintaining building infrastructure and equipment.
- Monitoring systems performance and functionality, making recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
- Monitoring consumption and manage efforts to reduce energy usage and cost.
- Documenting procedures, incidents, maintenance activities and keeping an inventory of all building components and equipment.
- Addressing emergency issues promptly and coordinating swift responses.
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
3+ years of experience in facilities engineering, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of building systems and facility codes.
Experience with CAD software and project management tools.
Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
Knowledge of basic finance and capital project management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Good analytical/critical thinking
Facilities Engineers having professional certifications such as Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) will be an advantage.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in aluminum extrusion or metalworking industries.
Familiarity with AS9100 or other aerospace quality standards.
Exposure to casting/molten metal facilities.

Lafayette Operations in Lafayette, IN is located approximately 60 miles from the states capital, Indianapolis and is the home to Purdue University. Our Lafayette location has been continuously running in Lafayette community since 1938. We are an Aluminum Extrusions plant for Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial and Defense facility.
