Responsibilities:Consult with business units to identify organizational learning objectivesApply instructional design models, learning theories and creativity to design effective learning programsConduct Train-the-Trainer workshops to qualify instructors to deliver trainingEnsure quality by adhering to sound adult learning principlesSelect and incorporate technologies that support learning resources and assessmentsGuide subject matter experts in the design and development of learning programsChoose appropriate learning strategies and media that support learning outcomesConsult, guide, and project management deliverables throughout the learning design phases while engaging with both internal and external stakeholders as requiredMaintain broad industry knowledge and understanding of spanetplace trends to develop best-in-class learning solutionsTravel within Canada or the USA to support training design activitiesSupport cross-functional training team initiatives
QualificationsMasters in Education, Curriculum Design or Educational Technology preferred5+ years of experience in a senior instructional design role2+ years in learning consulting roles3+ years in a customer-oriented role in the airline, hospitality or service industriesStrong interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to leverage both creativity and instructional design theory to create innovative and effective learning programsHigh adaptability and the ability to work with ambiguityPrevious experience in a corporate setting is an assetPrevious facilitation experience is an assetCertificate in project management or change management is a definite assetWillingness and ability to travel on short notice for various periods (up to 20 of the time)Sound knowledge of instructional systems design and instructional design modelsExcellent oral and written communication skills in English (French is an asset)Excellent knowledge of technology required to enable effective online, leader-led, social, virtual, and mobile learning experiencesAbility to work under pressure, assess priorities and manage strict deadlinesCapable of offering creative designs for blended learning environments incorporating both synchronous and asynchronous optionsDemonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
