How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Maintenance Programs Engineering manager will oversee a new team consisting of Engineers and Maintenance Programs specialists. This leader will manage two major initiatives: incorporating all Airworthiness Directive (AD) mandated maintenance programs tasks into the program and analyzing the overall effectiveness of the maintenance program utilizing the Maintenance Program Optimization (MPO) tool. This ideal candidate is a visionary leader that can develop and execute new processes to build synergies in ALS/AWL incorporation partnering with Fleet Engineering, Regulatory Compliance, the ADPC team and the FAA. This leader will drive a new Task Effectiveness organization specializing in analyzing, reviewing, and adjusting tasks based off non-routine check findings, pilot logs and functional failures from the established maintenance program. The ideal candidate is an analytical and strategic self-driven individual that can drive a vision and strategy to the team. This candidate must have a compliance mindset with proven ability to drive business results by partnering with cross-divisional organizations, leading the team through industry leading analysis, and cultivating a partnership with the FAA CMO/ACO. Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks): Establish an operating system for ALS/AWL incorporation leveraging a co-located workforce for a high level of compliance and a quicker turnaround Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging maintenance program task data to drive effective business solutions.Lead a team to drive optimization and improvement of fleet, sub-fleet or aircraft tail level scheduled maintenance performance Utilize problem solving guidance using continuous improvement tools and techniques such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and MSG-3 methodology and principles Analyzes operational and routine scheduled maintenance data trends to assess the long-term performance and health of the Delta fleets and provides routine reporting of those trends using the MPO tool. Oversee developing new programs for newly acquired aircraft and ensuring necessary maintenance tasks have been completed prior to the aircraft being added to Delta’s Operations Specification. Supports setting annual TechOps fleet performance standards and justifying those recommendations to the Reliability Control Board Transform the organization to a forward-thinking approach leading to predictive maintenance programs vs reactive one size fits all approach Deliver solutions that drive efficiency and error reduction to increase compliance Review and establish new processes documenting in TOPP/SOP May be responsible for preparing and presenting presentations to all levels of management as well as regulatory agencies Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) A bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years of relevant aviation experience; a master’s degree in a related field plus at least 3 years of the above experience; in the absence of these specific degrees, must have 10 years of the above-related experienceStrong understanding of Engineering processes (AA, ER/A, MDCR, reliability reviews)Experience RCM principlesAbility to establish goals and lead a team with minimal directionMust possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office software productsMust be able to influence and work effectively with a variety of people, both internally and externally(If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in present positionMust practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and proceduresConsistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
