The Military Landing Gear Technical Project Engineer will lead and manage all phases of Military Landing Gear Programs from concept through delivery. Serving as the primary technical liaison between Collins and the customer, you will oversee the coordination of engineering, operational, and administrative activities to ensure program success. This high-visibility role requires cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive technical execution and program milestones. You will also play a key role in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to resolve complex technical issues throughout the program lifecycle.

What You Will Do:

• You will work onsite in Haltom City, TX.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects and suggest appropriate adjustments to ensure adherence to the established project plan, schedule, and budget.
• Record and document delays, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact on the scope of work or schedule to ensure smooth project operations.
• Drive the integrated project team to the integrated master schedule and work to maintain that schedule with the project planner.
• Pursue all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
• Perform critical path analysis and prepare and implement work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects.
• Conduct meetings, consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s).
• Identify and react to project problems and recommend solutions, such as reallocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
• Participate and lead process improvement pursuits.
• Manage procurement of hardware to meet program schedule and budget.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to the project team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Perform other duties as required

Must Have Qualifications:

•  Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
• Experience leading technical projects from planning to conception leveraging project management methodologies
• Experience leading cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality)
• Experience using project management software and tools (MS Office/MS Project etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to present technical data and program updates to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of military/aerospace industry regulations (e.g., FAA, DoD standards, AS9100, ITAR, etc.).
• Experience with defense contracting environments and program compliance requirements.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
