Technology Engineering Manager M/F

Job Description:

What does the role look like?

Join the Engineering Management team to lead the strategic direction of the R&T programs that shape the future of Safran portfolio.
You will work closely with Business Development and Program Management within cross-functional teams to develop and implement comprehensive technology roadmaps ensuring alignment with customer demands and organizations long term vision.
Translating the technology road map into medium-term R&T projects and periodically reporting the projects progress to the Corporate is a key part of the role.
You will be supporting the proposal phase of new programs identifying the enabling technologies and technological challenges to be addressed in order to offer a product that is technologically and economically aligned to the customers needs
This role requires a deep understanding of actuation technology for aerospace, emerging technologies and aerospace.
You will need to understand and be capable to work with the initial definition and development of complex hydraulic, mechanical pneumatic systems.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
tCross-Functional Collaboration. Work closely with Business Development and Program Management and collaborate with operation functions to accomplish tasks,
tCustomer Meeting. Technical alignment meeting with customer to understand future development and need, including opportunity of collaboration on specific R&T
tTechnical Leadership. Capability to lead a group of engineers in analysing customer technical specifications, make advance design and prepare technical proposals targeted to acquire new business.
tTeam Leadership. Provide leadership and guidance to engineering team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals and deliver exceptional results. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes knowledge sharing and teamwork.
tDocumentation and Reporting. Capability to write clear and accurate documentation for customer in response to technical specifications. Capability to technically lead the team during Technical Proposal Phase.
tProject Planning. Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and technical specifications. Prepare regular project status updates and present findings to the management team and key stakeholders.
tLessons Learning. Be active part of the lessons learned process aimed to collect lessons learned throughout the life of the project, collaborate to flow back learning into applicable Standard Work and procedures to improve future equipment

Job Requirements:

What will you bring to the role?
\tMaster degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
\tExtensive knowledge of design, development, validation and verification practices of components and systems. A consolidated experience in aerospace is preferred.
\t+10 year of proven experience of successfully leading engineering projects team in delivering complex projects, preferably in an aerospace development context.
\tGood knowledge of project management techniques, including cost estimation, scheduling and risk management.
\tExcellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, demonstrating positive and collaborative attitude.
\tSolid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
\tAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
\tProblem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
\tFluent Italian and English (written and oral)
\tAvailability to travels between Italian sites and abroad

Desirable skills:
•\tPhD background
•\tExperience in lead EU or GOV funding project.
