Purpose of Position
The Maintenance Finance Controller Lead is a tactical role within the European Finance department, which creates the bridge between Finance/Accounting and Maintenance and carries out cost control, analysis and planning work that contributes to improving company profitability. The role plans, defines, implements, controls and supports all financial processes related to Aircraft Maintenance, developing finance processes and controls, to guarantee the accuracy, feasibility, financial optimization and cost control of all related maintenance financial processes and an appropriate contract management support, working in close coordination with relevant Maintenance and Finance teams.
Tasks and Responsibilities
•Lead the monthly Maintenance financial reporting and closing accounts, providing guidance on complex accounting operations, and justifying all the differences to budget/forecast/prior year, to ensure accuracy of the financial statements whilst delivering correct financial indicators;
•Support the Maintenance Team in the preparation, projection and control of Maintenance's annual budget and 10 YP, monitoring current results against budget and produce monthly variance reports;
•Act as the Deputy for the Reporting & Mx Finance Analytics Manager on all Maintenance matters;
•Prepare ongoing financial forecasts, providing different "scenarios" to identify financial indicators that could help business strategy planning (e.g., cost control/mitigation recommendations, amongst others);
•Oversee the FP&A monthly reporting package in accordance with established deadlines, and develop new reports aligned with the Management team and Senior Executive Team needs;
•Create timely, relevant, and accurate analyses of financial and business data and processes required for the Maintenance area, working in close collaboration with Maintenance area business partners as well as with BI&A stakeholders;
•Perform analysis of both strategic and tactical Maintenance financial questions while working independently, pragmatically, and with reliance on creative analytical curiosity;
•Collaborate with Maintenance business partners to explore and address financial performance drivers, leveraging strong analytical skills and business acumen. Develop and maintain financial reports, models, and dashboards to support forecasting, planning, and strategic decision-making.
•Provide support to the Executive Leadership Team on strategic planning and decision-making processes on Maintenance financial topics, contributing to the company's profitability;
•Simplify complex Maintenance language and translate it into Financial/Business language in presentations for the Executive Leadership Team;
•Develop and promote adoption of best practices in relation to Maintenance costs/accruals accounting methodologies and cost control;
•Build and foster strong relationships with business partners by engaging regularly, seeking feedback, and ensuring clarity and trust in financial insights and recommendations;
•Act as a trusted lead, providing functional and/or technical leadership through guidance, coaching, and subject-matter expertise, while offering constructive feedback and partnering with the Reporting & Mx Finance Analytics Manager to support performance and development.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
•University degree in Management, Engineering (with Data Analytics), Economics or similar;
•Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role or related work experience (preferential in the aviation industry or maintenance cost control area);
•Ability to demonstrate a high level of business acumen and can-do attitude and forging close working relationships with relevant business partners;
•Analytical skills with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing cost control processes and procedures, creating datasets, automated reports and other tools to effectively control Maintenance costs and help drive company profitability;
•High Proficiency in MS Office (VBA preferably), Analytics tools and visualization platforms;
•Exceptional creative problem-solving abilities;
•Detail-oriented and proven ability to prioritize multiple objectives in a dynamic environment with constantly shifting priorities;
•Must have ability to work cross functionally, build relationships and excel in a team environment;
•Initiative, confidence, and the drive to achieve results without explicit direction or detailed instruction;
•Fluency in Business English (written and spoken).
