Position Overview
Procurement of material for aircraft maintenance, tooling, ground support, facilities, office supplies, forms, etc., in cost effective manner. May be assigned to either Aircraft Maintenance purchasing functions or non-aircraft maintenance.
- Procure materials and services necessary to support customer and HAECO requirements at optimum efficiency and pricing.
- Promote the most effective use of company funds in the acquisition of assigned items at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements.
- Select vendors, source material, negotiate prices, terms, and method of shipment per Company policy.
- Maintain rapport with vendors and consistently review previous procurement history to improve pricing.
- Ensure proper approvals are received on all purchase orders in accordance with Company policy.
- Request proper certifications on all orders at time order is placed.
- Be aware of hazardous materials and methods of shipment.
- Ensure subcontracted maintenance is only sub contracted to properly authorized approved organizations.
- Administrate and monitor EDI transactions.
- Reconcile all accounting and receiving discrepancies.
- Negotiate with vendors for the return of materials when necessary.
- Maintain vendor master in Majic on safety stock items.
- Provide constant follow-up until delivery.
- Maintain good company image and vendor relations through professional business conduct.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Purchasing Supervisor
What you need: (Requirements)
- Duties require minimum of a two-year college degree or two years equivalent procurement/purchasing experience. Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Typing speed of 35 WPM is required.
- Requires minimum two years of purchasing experience in repair station or airline environment. Must have general knowledge of purchasing functions. Must know how/where to source material in a timely manner. Must be able to negotiate terms, establish accounts, and determine methods of shipment.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed to interact with a wide variety of people.
- Must have good organizational skills, able to prioritize work, accurately perform duties with constant activity in the area, and pay close attention to detail.
- Must be self-starter requiring minimal supervision and perform with a degree of accuracy in the execution of job assignments.
- Must be able to work under pressure, relate to others and maintain flexibility with schedules of the department.
- Must read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Normal office environment where approximately 80 of work is performed in a sitting position with the remaining time walking and moving around the office area.
- Filing duties require typical bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, etc.
- Must also be able to lift and carry 15 lbs.
- Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination for keyboard operations is necessary approximately 50 of the time.
- Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
- Occasional trips to the stores areas and hangar areas as directed.
- Vendor site visits required in local area, requiring driving – valid driver’s license required with acceptable driving record to meet insurance requirements.
- Must be able to work assigned schedule with minimal absences.
