Job Description:


OVERVIEW:

The Technical Buyer AOG sources aircraft parts for aircraft deferrals, heavy maintenance non-routine findings and aircraft recovery efforts on behalf of Global Crossing Airlines. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest quality components are sourced at the best price and required lead times in support of both passenger and cargo operations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports MCC (Maintenance Control Center) with sourcing efforts during aircraft recovery events.
  • Coordinates material movements and monitors progress.
  • Proactively sources material to clear MEL, DMI and NEF items prior to impacting operations.
  • Execute RFQs (Request for Quote) and negotiate final pricing.
  • Identifies poor performing suppliers and works with senior leadership to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure aircraft parts are sourced only from approved vendors with approved traceability documents.
  • Provides feedback on repeat purchases to establish allocations.
  • Ensures accurate entry and monitoring of all purchase order data within Trax.
  • Resolves purchase order discrepancies including cost, quantity and incorrect products.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate.
  • May require after-hours support during out-of-service events.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by GlobalX.
  • Travel may be required up to 10

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 3-4 years sourcing airframe and/or powerplant material for an Airline or Supplier.
  • 1-2 years within a related aviation supply chain discipline I.E Material Planning, Repairs, Stores, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis or Business Administration preferred. 
  • Strong decision making, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including maintenance/engineering & inventory systems, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability to analyze data within area of expertise. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage varying workloads.
  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
