nInterview Schedule
nCandidates applying to this requisition may be considered for the interview process below. The interview process consists of the following:
nnA 60 minute virtual interviewnA 30 minute in-person interviewnA Ramp Chief aptitude testnnCandidates successful in the interview process may be invited to paid classroom training in Honolulu. Training is five days, 8 hours per day on weekdays.
nPosition Overview
nDuties include but are not limited to:
nMust be able to possess the qualifications of a Ramp Agent and have the ability to supervise, lead and direct the work of and provide practical training to others.
nnAssumes the responsibility for proper administration of work in their unit.nResponsible for checking and correcting reports and other documentation.nAccountable for inventory in the commissary area.nLoading, stowing and unloading of all cargo and baggage in accordance with flight loading plans.nPick-up and delivery of all cargo, including mail, express, baggage, freight Company material, commissary supplies.nPreparation, reporting and accounting of necessary documents relating to work performed.nCleaning of aircraft baggage pits and immediate work areas.nOperation of ground service equipment in connection with the above duties, and only after proper training.nResponsible for communicating correct placement of cargo & baggage and provide final count to Weight & BalancenIf not a violation of Line Service scope, responsible for ground equipment fuelingnWhen mechanical personnel are not immediately available for the assignment, Ramp Agents may also be required to perform the duties of Cleaners: limited to cleaning of offices in surrounding areas and aircraft. Such duties may be assigned only as the needs of the service require.nResponsible for receipt and dispatch of aircraft and related ancillary duties.nnReceipt and dispatch is defined as receipt of an incoming flight and dispatch of an outgoing flight including all related ancillary duties.nnnIf not a violation of Line Service scope, Ramp employees may be utilized to perform Move Team work and would be eligible for the Move Team premium identified in Article 19.nIf not a violation of Line Service scope, Ramp employees may be utilized for Aircraft Fueling.nnPay and Benefits
nThis position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and the pay for this position is $17.67 per hour.
nMedical, dental and vision benefits are provided in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement and may not be available for all positions.
nWork Schedules
nPer the collective bargaining agreement, work schedules are awarded based on seniority. New hires are awarded their initial shift based on operational need. You must be able to accept the shift awarded to you.
nWork schedules are set, 5 days on, 2 days off. Shifts do not change unless there is an operational need.
nFull-Time is 8 hours per shift. Based on operational need, you may need to report to work early and/or work beyond your scheduled end time.
nThe airport is busiest in the middle of the day (typically 9am – 4pm). Nearly all new hires are awarded shifts during this timeframe. If you have a full-time job during the day, please consider this before applying.
nIf You Do Not Reside on O&39;ahu Island
nIf hired, based on operational need, you will be required to report to work early and/or work beyond your scheduled end time. Those who plan to fly to get to/from work would have difficulty reporting to work early, which is a restriction in availability. It would be difficult for us to consider you and encourage you to monitor our careers website for an opportunity based on your desired work location.

nnLegally authorized to work in the United StatesnMinimum 18 years of agenPossess at least a high school diploma or equivalent educationnValid driver’s license issued in the United States (driver’s permits and provisional driver’s licenses not allowed)nAbility to work any shift awardednMust be familiar with operating a computer.nMust be able to obtain a ramp permit.nMust have physical ability to perform above duties including:nFrequently lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs. and 120 lbs. occasionallynConstantly walking and standingnOccasionally sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouchingnMust be able to obtain proper restricted area clearances (AOA).nMust be able to obtain a Customs’ seal.nMust have knowledge of Hawaii and world geography.nMust have good customer relations skills.nMust have a good command of the English language.nAbility to complete pre-employment drug test and if hired, random drug testingnAbility to fulfill comprehensive background checks and fingerprinting to satisfy company security requirements and obtain various clearances to work at the airport (SIDA, Customs, and USPS, as applicable)nMust be able to successfully pass the Ramp Chief aptitude testnn***HAZMAT MATERIAL TRAINING PREREQUISTE- Per 14 CFR 121.1005(b) requires each crewmember and person performing or directly supervising any job functions involving any item for transport on board an aircraft to receive HAZMAT Training respective to their job function prior to reporting to that department.
n**Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position. Failure to submit to testing or positive indications of drug use will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Hawaiian Airlines and any employment offer will be withdrawn.
