GENERAL SUMMARY

The Aircraft Avionics Technician will maintain the proper and safe functioning of our customers’ aircraft, ensuring customers receive the services required on time, as promised. The Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic inspects aircraft, and aircraft components, performs indicated repairs and service and performs required inspections per FAA specifications in a safe and timely manner.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 The essential duties and responsibilities of the Aircraft Avionics Technician are as follows:

  • Performs all work activities in accordance with FAA regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures to ensure safety of self and others.
  • Inspects aircraft or aircraft electrical components, for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear to ensure airworthiness.
  • Recommends replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection.
  • Reports issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel, as required.
  • Installs, removes, or modifies aircraft electrical components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications.
  • Inspects completed work to certify that maintenance adheres to standards and procedures, and that aircraft are ready for operation.
  • Interprets discrepancies or logs (written or verbal) to understand history and nature of issue, to troubleshoot issue, and to identify required next steps (e.g., fix, defer, replace).
  • Researches, reads, and interprets technical manuals and guidelines to perform inspections, installations, repairs, or other work activities.
  • Reviews maintenance records to determine if service and maintenance checks, repairs, and overhauls were performed at prescribed intervals.
  • Uses computers, computer systems, and other technology to enter, document, access, receive, or communicate information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret:
  • Wiring diagrams and schematics
  • AMMs, WDMs, SRMs, IPCs, and SBs
  • Experience with avionics systems including:
  • Navigation & communication systems
  • Flight guidance systems
  • Autopilot and flight control interfaces
  • EFIS / FMS systems
  • Proficient in using avionics test equipment:
  • Multimeters
  • Ramp testers
  • Pitot-static test equipment (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of digital and analog electronics

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and thereafter submit to DOT mandated random drug and alcohol testing
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must have high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • A/P License
  • Minimum 5 plus years of hands-on avionics experience on business jets or turbine aircraft (Falcon experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience working in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment
  • Familiarity with Dassault Falcon aircraft (Falcon 50/900/2000/7X/8X as applicable)
  • Avionics troubleshooting and fault isolation
  • Line maintenance and heavy maintenance avionics tasks
  • Avionics installations and modifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military experience
  • FCC license
  • One year of mechanical experience (outside of educational experience)
  • One year of aircraft maintenance experience (outside of educational experience)
  • One year of heavy jet maintenance experience (outside of educational experience)

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Work in confined spaces and at heights
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, and climb ladders as required
  • Days, nights, weekends, or overtime as needed
  • Comfortable working in a hangar environment with noise, temperature changes, and aircraft fluids
