Job SummaryThe A&P/Aircraft Mechanic will service, repair, troubleshoot, and overhaul aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness: Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, systems, and functional components. Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components, and accessories using hand tools and power tools. Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems using hand tools, gauges and test equipment, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet guns, and drills. Research and understand FAA technical data relevant to assigned tasks.
Hourly Pay Rate: Up to $38.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Perform all work assigned in accordance with approved FAA data.
• Ensure complete and proper documentation of work performed.
• Ensure that all maintenance performed is in an airworthy condition.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, systems, and functional components, assemble, and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components, and accessories using hand tools and power tools.
• Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems using hand tools, gauges and test equipment, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet guns, and drills.
• Assure that all routine, non-routine, and customer request work cards are correctly completed and properly signed off.
• Maintains the premises and the repair station in a clean and organized manner.
• Performs additional duties as requested by supervisor or other management personnel.
• This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to submit to pre-employment and periodic DOT regulations for drug and alcohol testing.
Education and Experience• H.S. diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
• Airframe & Power Plant (A & P) License (Preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience.
• Large commercial aircraft experience preferred but corporate, general, or military aircraft will be considered.
• Must be flexible to work any shift.
• Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, verification of credentials, and a urinary pre-employment drug test per DOT regulations.
Skills and Abilities- Must be flexible to work any shift.
- Attention to detail is imperative.
Physical Requirements- Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs.
- Subject to continual loud noises.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb steps, ladders and/or service stands.
- Visual Acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected.
- Normal or corrected hearing is required.
