Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Structural Technician to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for building mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies, performing functional qualification testing, and maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing fluid and electromechanical components. The role requires close collaboration with engineers and leadership to drive operational improvements, and the ability to adapt quickly in a high-paced, challenging work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work order operations, quality buyoffs, and issuing hardware
  • Build mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies
  • Perform functional qualification testing and harness routing between kit assemblies
  • Proficiently use various mechanical tools
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and install fluid and electromechanical components from a schematic or drawing
  • Work closely with engineers and leadership to develop and implement operational improvements focused on driving task times down and ease of repeatability
  • Rapidly change roles and responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Play a critical role in coordinated vehicle movements and integrated pressurized ground operations
Essential Skills
  • Experience in a startup development environment
  • Experience working in a flight development program
  • Ability to transition parts and assemblies from the first article to production
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Modify, repair, assemble, drill, and install aircraft components
  • Drill, ream, and countersink full-size holes in parts and assemblies in the proper sequence to the correct size
  • Experience using hand tools, pilot holes, or by hand per drawing or instructions
  • Ability to select drill bits, reamers, and/or countersinking tools for pilot and full-size holes
  • Experience with CAD/CAM preferred
  • Basic shop knowledge of tools and equipment
  • Previous systems development experience
  • GSE build and operations experience
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T as well as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to take measurements using precision tools such as gauge pins, micrometers, depth gauges, scales, calipers, ball gauges, etc.
  • Previous experience with integration and assembly of large structural assemblies
  • Knowledge of simple harnessing and connectorizing
  • Ability to design and fabricate tooling necessary for safe/complete operations
  • Experience supervising large lifts and rigging
  • Previous experience with component-level builds and tests including proofing, ATP, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues in-situ on the floor and redline changes for engineering
  • Willingness to travel for test operations, etc.
  • A&P license preferred

Work Environment

The work environment is partially climate-controlled and can be hot in summer, but there are big fans to keep you cool. All necessary tools are provided. The team is highly collaborative, and you will work closely with others to complete tasks and projects efficiently.

This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $39.00/hr.
