PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a mechanically inclined and technically skilled FAA Assembly & Test Technician to support aerospace production operations at our Rocky Mount, North Carolina facility. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and assembly of electromechanical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
About the Role
As a FAA Assembly & Test Technician, you’ll perform standard testing processes on sophisticated electromechanical and electro-hydraulic control systems used in aircraft and helicopter engines. You’ll work under direct supervision, using precision tools and electronic work instructions to ensure product quality and compliance with aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform testing, calibration, and in-process inspections of hydro-mechanical fuel controls.
Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers) and hand tools.
Follow detailed assembly and test instructions, blueprints, and quality procedures.
Visually inspect parts and products for defects and initiate corrective actions.
Maintain accurate documentation and records.
Support continuous improvement and participate in Tier meetings.
Maintain work areas according to 5S and Visual Management standards.
Work overtime and weekends as required (must be pre-approved).
Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Mechanical and technical experience.
Basic computer skills and ability to navigate MS Office.
Ability to lift over 30 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Must complete vision testing within the first week of assignment.
Must wear steel-toe shoes.
Preferred Qualifications:
2–3 years of experience in an assembly and/or test manufacturing environment.
Associate’s degree in a technical field.
North Carolina WorkKeys Career Readiness Certificate (Silver or Gold).
Six Sigma training or certification.
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Experience in aerospace production and adherence to 5S principles.
Participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

Pay Details: $24.00 to $25.00 per hour
