The Finishing and Tooling Specialist will be responsible for performing a variety of mechanical tasks in support of electromechanical assembly processes. This includes applying specialized finishes, performing basic tool and die work, and handling preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring product quality and adherence to standards.
What You Will Do
- Apply specialized finishing paint to mechanical components as per process sheets and engineering instructions.
- Perform less complex tool and die work, including basic fabrication and adjustments.
- Conduct periodic preventive maintenance checks and perform less complicated repairs on tools and equipment.
- Deburr and clean parts to ensure proper fit, finish, and functionality.
- Read and interpret process sheets, work instructions, and gauges to verify product dimensions and characteristics.
- Handle and apply chemicals safely to prepare surfaces and components.
- Inspect own work for accuracy and quality.
- Communicate work status to team members and support staff (e.g., shift pass down, engineering, maintenance).
- Utilize computer skills for office software applications and basic reporting.
- Lift electrotechnical assemblies up to 25 pounds.
- This is a 1st Shift, onsite position (7AM to 3:30 PM, overtime maybe be required).
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience with basic tool and die work
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Prior manufacturing experience related to finishing processes
- Experience with characteristics of mechanical products and materials.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to self-inspect work.
- Experience reading process sheets, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Prior data entry experience related to manufacturing or maintenance industry standard enterprise resource planning system such as SAP-PRISM, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle Fusion and etc..
