Quality and Safety Inspector

Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice President, Quality and Safety, the Quality and Safety Inspector is responsible for ensuring that assigned investigations, Quality Assurance (QA) audits, and Quality Control (QC) checks are completed in an unbiased, objective, professional and timely manner in accordance with the SMS Manual and Quality Manual. The Quality and Safety Inspector will also work to complete SMS report validations as assigned.Personal CharacteristicsHighly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environmentProfessional and respectful, with a positive work attitudeTimely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essentialMotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communitiesAble to deal with confidential information and documentation with discretion, sensitivity and tactStrong attention to detailKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesConduct assigned investigations, audits, and validations in an unbiased manner within prescribed timelinesChair program-related meetings and safety committee level meetings as requiredWork with department heads to develop and continually improve program-associated policies, procedures and trainingUnderstand current legislation, codes of practice, bulletins and other safe work practices and recommendationsActively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System and Quality Assurance ProgramDemonstrate a cooperative attitude and friendly working relationship with other company departmentsPerform additional duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience and CertificationsHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalentCompletion of a Private Pilots LicenseSuccessful completion of a Commercial Pilots Ground School, achieved through participation in a recognized commercial pilot’s ground school program, or enrollment in our in-house commercial pilots ground school program Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizationsPrevious experience with a Safety Management Software System considered an assetPrevious experience with an Aviation Management Software System considered an asset (WinAir/VMO preferred)Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an assetWorking ConditionsPhysically able to perform all listed job dutiesTravel by aircraft and other means as required by roleWork performed primarily in an office environmentManual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephoneWork performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions
