Position Summary
The Representative Heavy Maintenance is present and responsible for quality and oversight of all maintenance actions accomplished on JetBlue aircraft during heavy maintenance service, modifications, delivery, paint restoration, retirement, and lease return events. The Representative Heavy Maintenance interfaces with JetBlue Material, Planning, Quality Control, Engineering, Maintenance Control, and our business partners to address all maintenance and quality requirements during a scheduled aircraft heavy maintenance service event.
Essential Responsibilities
- Attend on-site daily status meetings and report on execution of the maintenance service events conducted by the Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) provider
- Liaise with the MRO for all quality, planning, material, and technical requirements of the service
- Review non-routines and provide analysis of required hours, repair scheme, and impact to plan for repairs to control cost and prevent production delays
- Review and audit Engineering Orders (EOs), Engineering Authorizations (EAs), Technical Service Instructions (TSIs), routine and non-routine work cards for completeness, technical content, Required Inspection Item (RII), Maintenance Reliability Reports (MRRs) and all compliance requirements per the airworthiness agreement and/or the General Maintenance Manual (GMM)
- Ensure all JetBlue serviceable parts tags (MX-41) are present for each rotable and repairable component changed during the check
- Generate daily reports to accurately communicate the timely status of JetBlue aircraft with particular emphasis on delay cause, duration, and span impact
- Review engineering and material requirements for aircraft heavy maintenance service events
- Provide oversight of JetBlue Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP), Airworthiness Agreements, and JetBlue GMM
- Complete daily aircraft walk-around to ensure the following; Safety and Quality Protocols are maintained, “Safety of Flight” issues are addressed and documented, full understanding of major repairs being performed, and critical path/constraints have been identified
- Initiate damage reports during instances of ground damage
- Ensure maintenance is performed in accordance with JetBlue policies and procedures
- Provide Out-of-Service (OOS) support as required
- Submit twice daily Out of Service aircraft report with emphasis on Estimated Time of Return (ETR) date and time, critical path, and parts issues
- Maintain aircraft logbook and ensure Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) system is updated and completed correctly for each heavy maintenance service event
- Responsible for the review of the final work package prior to signing the Airworthiness Release
