OnsiteAs a Test Technician, youll support engineering with custom pack requests as well as new product testing. Additionally, supporting aspects such as the assembly, final packing, and valve shop will be required as needed. One major aspect of this position will be to utilize a company provided computer to verify newly enhanced and/or developed technical data playing a vital role in our change order implementation required for the production environment. Daily task and priorities will be provided through the Operations Supervisor however, project task and deadlines will be provided by Operations Manufacturing Engineering. This role will assist and support multiple functions playing a vital role in the development and streamlining of production processes and procedures.
What You Will Do:
- Custom Pack Request: Thorough review of engineering test report, coordinate/conduct testing in accordance with versatile testing plans and methods. Work within cross-functional team focusing on quality aspects such as repeatability.
- New Product Testing – This position plans supports engineering with new product testing. Work will be conducted in accordance with engineering test plan, and any other formal testing documentation provided.
- Data Collection: Collection of dimensionspicturesotes before, during, and after testing. Understand critical characteristics of partsprocesses to highlight performance of product and product failures along with anomalies of system.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain a strong attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards. Strong working knowledge managing multiple project assignments.
- Versatility & Adaptability: Take on additional duties as assigned, demonstrating versatility in addressing a wide range of operational needs, with the ability to work with shifting priorities daily.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize basic communication and computer skills to effectively manage tasks and employ strong knowledge in making accurate measurements and understanding tolerances to ensure precision in all work.
- Blueprint & Manual Interpretation: Read and understand manuals, procedures, diagrams, and blueprints, applying this knowledge to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Hydrostatic testing: Responsible for the hydrostatic testing of cylinders (re-qualification). Individual will be required to achieve Hydrostatic testing certificate within six months of hire date.
- Charging Reservoir Assemblies: Secondary responsibility of charging reservoir assemblies in accordance with process and procedures meeting all safety protocols.
- Safety sensitive responsibilities: Individual will be required to perform safety sensitive duties. Individual will be monitored via federal aviation administration’s alcohol and drug policies.
- Approximately 95 of time standing
Qualifications you must have:
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Ability to input retrieves access and send information via computer.
- Ability to bend and stand for inspections of parts.
- Ability to lift materials, units, or cylinders, from 50-80 pounds with assistance.
- Some exposure to vapors from solvents and adhesives.
- Ability to wear steel toed shoes and other PPE as required.
- Majority of work will be conducted in a production environment that does not provide air conditioning and or heat control. Manufacturing facility does provide sufficient support for air movement and ventilation.
