Design Quality Lead
Job Description
Role Overview:
The Design Quality Lead supports the Managing Director of Customer Service and the PMO organization in all customer interface activities. This role ensures consistent, high-quality execution of design and aesthetic inspections, aligning the delivered product with the customer’s design intent and master samples. The position acts as a bridge between engineering quality and design quality, focusing on visual harmony, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection Organization and Tracking
- Coordinate and track all internal and external inspection milestones, including:
- Shell Inspection (Internal)
- Pre-Finish Inspection (Internal)
- Pre-Customer FAI Inspection (Internal)
- FAI Inspection (with Customer)
- White Glove Inspection (Internal/Customer)
- Customer Ground Inspection Support
- Customer Acceptance Flight Support
- Lead or support inspections as required to ensure readiness, consistency, and adherence to established processes.
- Lead and support dimension inspection of steps, gaps and flushness in reference to QC1001.
Consistency and Process Management
- Drive consistency across all reviews in setup, content, format, and tracking.
- Ensure adherence to inspection and review processes across departments.
- Support and lead inspection review preparation, setup, and follow-up actions.
Action and Communication Management
- Support resolution of inspection-related actions, both internal and external.
- Manage communication flow between internal teams and customers during inspection phases.
Lessons Learned and Continuous Improvement
- Track lessons learned from each project phase.
- Support implementation of process improvements based on lessons learned.
- Customer Interface and Representation
- Provide direct customer interface support both onsite and offsite.
- Represent Comlux during customer visits, inspections, and reviews.
- Ensure all customer-facing activities reflect the highest standards of professionalism and design quality.
Final Delivery Support
- Support agenda development for final onsite reviews.
- Contribute to Commitment Letter (CL) development and tracking.
- Manage loose equipment review and sign-off.
Design Quality and Aesthetic Alignment
- Ensure that all delivered materials, finishes, and colors align with master samples (“match to master”).
- Maintain oversight of design harmony, appearance quality, and aesthetic integrity throughout the inspection and delivery process.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure that the final product meets both technical and aesthetic expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Industrial Design, Aerospace Engineering, Quality Management, or similar).
- Minimum of five years of experience in a related industry (aviation, luxury interiors, or high-end manufacturing preferred).
- Strong understanding of design aesthetics, color/material harmony, and quality standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight timelines.
- A proactive, “can-do” attitude with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
