The software engineering group in FAST labs is seeking a Software Engineering Manager. You will be an active member of the Software Engineering leadership team, shaping the culture and process while ensuring the staffing and technical needs of the business are met. You will work with our programs using your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations. Youll manage a group of 7 to 15 software engineers, providing them with technical mentoring, career guidance and performance feedback. You’ll work closely with other product area leads in helping to set the technical direction for our products.
Technical roles will include architecture and design reviews, strategic initiative implementation, bid and proposal development, next generation solution planning and other areas of engagement that align with your skills and career aspirations.
Qualified candidates should possess knowledge of software architectures, software industry best practices, and emerging software technologies.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100 of the time.
