ST Engineering Aerospace is located at Brookley Aeroplex in Mobile, Alabama, and Pensacola, FL, at the Pensacola International Airport. What YOU will do:
The Lead Inspector shall be responsible to the Supervisor Quality Control for the activities of all Inspectors assigned to his/her crew.
In This Role YOU will:
- Assist and direct all personnel assigned to his/her crew.
- Review incoming aircraft maintenance logs for items of work required to be accomplished at the Repair Station.
- Procure required forms and work orders and transfer work to be accomplished to forms.
- Assign and monitor inspectors duties.
- Survey all work in progress.
- Accept or reject work accomplished for all items generated on the work order.
- Ensure that shift inspectors give essential tie-in to their relief to ensure proper completion of work in progress.
- Be responsible for entries in the aircraft maintenance flight logs, as well as the airworthiness release.
- Check for proper installation, security, safety and workmanship.
- Conduct pressure checks if necessary.
- Check for proper material and fasteners.
- Check for conformance to specification per repair, maintenance or other relevant manual or applicable engineering instruction approved by the FAA.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Good working knowledge of all aircraft job tasks, through understanding of all applicable FAR’s and company policy and procedures, through
knowledge of all aircraft manuals and related materials. Through knowledge of all ST Aerospace Mobile and customer paperwork and a thorough knowledge of blueprint and drawing instructions.
SUPERVISION: Performs duties according to his or her own judgement. Request assistance only when necessary.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with various departments, inspectors, co-workers, supervision and the customer.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft. Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Working environment requires standing 90 of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and to report to work regularly.
What YOU Need:
- A&P License required
- 5 years heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience
- Minimum of 2 years inspection experience
