Purpose of Position
The Manager, Technical Publications leads the creation and currency of aircraft manuals, regulatory documents, and operational content to ensure safe and compliant flight operations and manages the technical writing team. The manager is responsible for execution of content workflows and the change management process, ensuring publishing standards, timelines, and user access controls are maintained. This role must drive continuous improvement in how documentation is developed and delivered, oversee onboarding and training, and partner across departments to resolve challenges and enhance efficiency.

Tasks and Responsibilities
• Responsible for the end-to-end change management process, ensuring content changes move through approval workflows on time and in compliance with regulatory and operational control standards.Establish data-driven, performance-based timelines for all documentation projects, ensure progress to timeline by resolving roadblocks through trouble shooting and resolving workflow, content, or platform issues in real time by coordinating with both system administrators and internal partners, and deliver effective reporting key content development metrics and use performance data to guide coaching, workload balancing, and team development to leadership for projects.
• Drive improvements in how technical content is developed, formatted, and delivered, leveraging modern technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and usability while ensuring the document distribution platform is intuitive and well-organized, providing an efficient, user-friendly experience for pilots, technicians, and other users.
• Lead and support the technical writing team in producing accurate, compliant, and timely documentation for aircraft operations, regulatory needs, and internal procedures. Provide coaching, set clear expectations, and ensure performance accountability through structured check-ins and training.
• Maintain user access and role-based permissions within the document management system. Conduct regular audits to ensure users are properly assigned and security protocols are followed.
• Deliver onboarding and ongoing training for technical publications team members, ensuring consistent understanding of tools, processes, policies, and quality expectations.

•Experience in aviation or a highly regulated industry, with a strong understanding of technical documentation standards and compliance requirements.
•Demonstrated ability to lead a team, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development.
•Familiarity with content management systems and version control best practices.
•Skilled in managing documentation workflows, testing updates, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of deliverables.
•Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
