Job Description:
CONTEXT OF THE POSITION…The Senior Manufacturing Engineer serves as the Senior Technical Authority within the Cross Plant ME Department. While performing essential daily operational duties, this role is primarily focused on delivering advanced, optimized solutions for the most stubborn and complex manufacturing quality issues originating from the MCA Plant and its suppliers. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Serve as the Senior On-site Representative:
Act as the Senior Technical Representative for all Airbus MCA plants at the Final Assembly Line (FAL).
Serve as the advanced point of contact between FAL customers and MCA plants/suppliers. Ensure timely and accurate escalation of all critical blocking issues to H/O XP Manufacturing Engineering and relevant stakeholders.
Manage Complex Outstanding Work (OSW):
Lead the ME technical analysis for all complex OSW and ensure the correct execution of plant work orders.
Draft complex rework instructions, Ensure their technical robustness, quality impact, and execution efficiency.
Deeply analyze all required drawings, concession solutions, tooling, competency qualifications, and parts information to ensure seamless section handover. Ensure timely and accurate escalation of all critical blocking issues to H/O XP Manufacturing Engineering and relevant stakeholders.
Lead Advanced Technical Disposition, On-site Support, and Cross-functional Discussion:
Provide ME technical disposition and expert analysis for all NC/ALB/QLB. Focus particularly on complex or chronic issues with MCA plant responsibility.
Provide expert, hands-on technical support. Focus on resolving complex constraints on the FAL critical path (e.g., Junction, Power-on, Hydraulic release, Fuel tests). Establish best practices for the team.
Lead technical discussions: For repairs that exceed the &34;Back to Drawing&34; scope, conduct in-depth discussions and collaboration with the MAP department and/or supplier MAP. Ensure the repair proposal is technically feasible and compliant.
Lead PPS Investigation:
Lead and drive the PPS investigation and root cause analysis for critical, complex, or persistent issues.
Drive continuous improvement by actively participating in process optimization initiatives and correcting OS findings.
Collaborate with Quality QCM to summarize, escalate, and track improvement actions for long-term, high-cost NCs in habit plant responsibility. Drive final issue closure.
Drive Technical Inheritance and Professional Training:
Design and lead the department&39;s professional technical training curriculum. Focus on enhancing the ME team&39;s proficiency in PPS methodology and complex systems analysis.
Mentor and coach general ME staff. Improve team analytical skills, on-site decision quality, and technical reporting.
Promote knowledge transfer and share Lessons Learned as the core knowledge owner to build a continuous learning culture through poly-poly methodology.
Improve XP/ME team Capacity:
Support HO ME and participate in technical meetings with corresponding business units at the MCA plants for improvement and solutions.
Support HO ME and participate in OEDA/RRA discussion to establish or enhance the team capabilities.
Participate in Continuous Improvement and Standardization:
Lead the cross plant ME handbook editorial team for handbook modification and updating, Drive process optimization and standardization by identifying and correcting internal/external findings.
Organize weekly Team technical exchange meetings. Focus on sharing technical best practices, complex case studies, and lessons learned. Ensure consistency in working methodology across the ME team to foster a strong learning organization.
This role requires a normal day & late shift work, in case of industrial crisis, it may require work in the night shifts when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONEducation: Aeronautics education or equivalent bachelor degree. Master&39;s degree or advanced certification (e.g., Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a strong advantage.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Aviation Manufacturing Engineering including at least 5 years experience in cross plant technical activities, with proven success in leading complex problem-solving initiatives and managing multi-functional/international project teams.
REQUIRED SKILLSTechnical Skills:
Required skill 1: Aircraft specifications & 2D drawing, Mastery in complex drawing interpretation and expertise in defining technical standards for ME disposition.
Required skill 2: tools such as SAP, ACPnG, &64;AirNav, CIRCE, IBM...
Required skill 3: Advanced Problem-Solving skills, Proven application of advanced quality tools (FMEA, SPC, PPS, Six Sigma methodology).
LANGUAGE: fluent English both in written and oral speaking. Required for leading technical negotiations and exchanges with EU team. French and/or German is a significant plus.
