Job Description

• We are seeking a highly organized and goal-oriented Machinist to join our growing organization in Niceville, Florida. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for manufacturing prototype parts, sub-assemblies, and test fixtures within a small R&D machine shop. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives on complex tasks and problem-solving, enjoys teamwork and collaboration, and can handle the pressure of deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture prototype parts, sub-assemblies, and test fixtures.
• Set up, adjust, and create CNC programs for all parts to be manufactured.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet all specifications.
• Support day-to-day operations by ordering supplies and performing routine maintenance.
• Assist in other departmental tasks as needed.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Set up and operate CNC machines, including entering instructions and using the correct attachments.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise during production and conduct inspections of finished products.
• Understanding of machinery operation, safety protocols, and technical drawing interpretation.

• Knowledge of operating lathes, milling machines, drill press, and metal and wood working hand tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Contribute to innovation through the development of creative solutions and prototypes.

Work Environment

• Work in an office and lab environment at a facility with 55 employees specializing in cable/wire harness assembly, testing, and hardware/software engineering. Enjoy a supportive atmosphere with very low turnover and core hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, including a daily stand-up meeting at 8 AM.

Job Type & Location

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Niceville, Florida.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
