Job Description:
Define and drive the overall Surface Technology strategy, including core principles, concepts, and roadmaps.
Create and maintain the Material and Manufacturing Process Selection List, ensuring standardized engineering solutions.
Champion eco-efficiency by integrating EHS regulations (including REACh) and sustainability concepts into all material and process definitions.
Technical Development & Harmonization
Develop and harmonize robust material and process specifications for surface treatments on both Metals and Composites.
Lead the development of external livery technologies (paints, coatings) and surface preparation methods (cleaning, pre-treatments).
Engineer specialized surface features, including electrical insulation, erosion protection, and aerodynamic coatings.
Deliver technical data and optimized surface solutions to the Design Engineering teams.
Quality, Certification & Support
Oversee part certification processes, specifically managing First Part Qualifications (FPQ) for new surface technologies.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing support for engineering, manufacturing, and in-service issues related to surface technologies.
