Description:
Role Overview
As a Technician supporting spaceflight hardware, you will help fabricate, assemble, test, and maintain components and systems used in space applications. This role combines hands-on mechanical and electromechanical work with careful documentation and adherence to engineering specifications.
You will work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions to build and support high-precision hardware. Your work directly contributes to the quality, reliability, and performance of spaceflight systems.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
• Fabricate, construct, assemble, and maintain electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical components and systems
• Perform composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly activities
• Assemble precision mechanical components for spaceflight hardware
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and diagnose equipment and devices
• Operate machining tools, lathes, CNC machines, and other related equipment (as applicable)
• Conduct tests and document results in the required format
• Support engineering teams by performing experiments and tests in fabrication or laboratory environments
• Evaluate processes and help identify and isolate process issues
• Implement experiments, collect results, maintain logs, and provide written and/or verbal reports
• Monitor process controls, materials, and supplies to ensure proper function
• Verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
• Communicate process or equipment concerns to engineers and advise operators as needed
Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing and/or processing laboratory environment focused on spaceflight hardware.
• Work is performed under general supervision
• Tasks require attention to detail and adherence to engineering documentation
• The pace is steady and quality-driven, with a strong focus on precision and process control
• Collaboration with engineers, operators, and other technicians is part of the daily workflow
A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of related experience are typical minimums for this role.
Company Mission & Program Overview

By ensuring components are built, tested, and documented accurately, you help maintain the standards required for mission-critical hardware.
Why LM
LM offers the opportunity to work on advanced spaceflight hardware in a structured, engineering-driven environment. Technicians are trusted contributors who play a critical role in fabrication quality, process improvement, and mission readiness.
