Job Description:

Professional Pilots of Tomorrow, (PPOT) a 501(c)(3) non-profit pilot mentorship organization, is seeking volunteer pilot mentors!

The process of becoming a professional pilot takes years of training, determination and discipline. Whether a pilot's objective is a career at an airline, cargo, charter, or corporate operator, the path can be challenging to navigate, especially alone.

Professional Pilots of Tomorrow is a mentorship organization founded on the principle of providing free, unbiased guidance to aspiring aviation professionals, as well as providing the resources needed to succeed in the industry. Our organization is a support system for up-and-coming pilots to network with established, experienced professionals across a broad and diverse network.

With PPOT, members grow their network and establish themselves within a vibrant aviation community, allowing them to become better equipped to make informed career path decisions. Our mentorship program is designed to be as transparent and unbiased as possible, fostering a relationship and dialogue that is honest and ensures members are well suited to make the crucial decisions that lie ahead.

To create an environment where up-and-coming pilots are well supported and prepared to make the critical early career choices unique to the aviation industry.

Job Requirements:

Mentor Eligibility Requirements:

While we respect each individual pilot's experience, background, and diligence, at this time, we require our pilot mentors to have experience as a professional pilot in a position in addition to a traditional CFI position.
This can include pilots with experience as a professional Part 91K, Part 135, or Part 121 position.

Mentor Expectations:

Remain unbiased throughout the whole process
Offer insight as to what a typical day consists of
Offer insight to quality of life determinants when working for an airline
Guide the mentee to the appropriate person when company specific questions arise
Guide the mentee to the appropriate person when quality of life questions come up that you do not have personal experience with (ex. commuting vs. living in base)
PPOT is strictly not a recruiting organization. We are entrusting each mentor to offer guidance to the mentees they are assigned. If any mentor is found using this organization for recruiting purposes, that mentor will be subject to Dismissal

Mentor Responsibilities:

Maintain consistent communication with mentees. At a minimum check in on your mentee and the progress of their flight training/instructing every 30 days
Submit Mentor Update Forms at least once every 90 days
